GPS/J has been designed mainly for outdoor sport activities
like cycling, walking, sailing or fishing. It is also used as a navigation tool in
airplanes and by paragliders.
There are some oustanding features which distinguish GPS/J and make it so
useful:
|
- creating and navigating to waypoints,
- storing and visualising tracks,
- sharing tracks and waypoints with other users via Bluetooth (from device file system) or GPRS/UMTS,
- exporting to popular formats - GPX, KML and CSV,
- location of towns and cities lets you orient yourself about your present
location. As no GPRS is needed, it is operational in desert areas.
- more detailed maps accessed via GPRS (public content from MapQuest),
- compass with pointer indicating the bearing to chosen waypoint,
- intuitive, handy interface,
- runs on low-end hardware (eg. Nokia 6021),
- watching location on-line (comming soon - free upgrade available),
