Using GPS/J with Nokia Series 40
Nokia Series 40 users may encounter some limitations when using GPS/J. The
most common are listed below:
- allowed JAR size is limited, depending on the firmware version, to
128kB. However, it is sometimes possible to install a bigger JAR via the
Bluetooth/cable link. We distribute GPSJ Lite with no POI database for users of Series
40 phones. This version does not support JSR-75, as many S40 handsets do not implement this functionality.
- available storage size is limited to approximately 450kB. We
strongly discourage downloading more than one map to Nokia 6021 or 6230!
- low stack may cause RMS read operations to malfunction, especially
after a map download or searching a POI - POIs are not presented on the
track screen then. Restarting GPS/J will solve the problem!
