About GPS/J:
GPS/J is a console for Bluetooth®-enabled GPS receivers, a mobile navigation tool
for cell phone owners and the most affordable and convenient way to use
location services.
It is a J2ME (Java Micro Edition®) application for JSR82-compliant
devices (see the hardware compatibility list).
Main features (see also screenshots):
- reconfigurable GPS information screen with direction pointer, compass, heading,
distance to the waypoint and many more,
- compass with waypoint pointer,
- track map with panning, zooming and pointing,
- location of 20000 town&cities in Europe,
- the rest of the world downloadable,
- detailed POI databases for bigger countries (eg. about 100000 POIs in Germany; maps of other
countries generated on request),
- track export to the following formats: GPX, Google and CSV.
GPS/J Project also aims at delivering mobile
navigation solutions both for the consumer market and the business area.
The project started in late 2005 and since then it has developed
rapidly.
